The Federal Health Program for American Indians
Regardless of your income, if you are a verified American Indian you are eligible for health care services at no charge to you.  Indian Health Services (IHS) contracts with Hunter Health Clinic to provide  health care services for American Indians.

We Offer Many of our Services Across All Three Wichita Locations:

The No Charge American Indian Services Include

  • Medical office visit
  • Medical Lab (in-house)
  • Dental office visit
  • Limited Diagnostics (x-rays, lab)
  • Alcohol/Substance Abuse counseling, group sessions
  • Alcohol Anonymous meetings available on-site
  • HIV/AIDS testing and counseling
  • Native American registrar services (for clinic patients)
  • Traditional Native American Medicine referral contact person
  • Insulin
  • Immunizations
  • Mental Health Counseling
  • Medications prescribed by one of Hunter’s providers that are on the list of approved drugs

Other Services

  • Diabetes Outreach Services
  • Health education classes
  • Native American Diabetes Prevention Program

All of the above services are available for documented American Indians with proof of Indian heritage (there is no set blood quantum requirements for services through Hunter).
